Our focus is the individual. For each client, we strive to redefine fitness---to determine that person's needs and desires and then design a comprehensive plan to teach fitness, achieve fitness and, most important, maintain fitness.
One size will not fit all. Forget false promises, unrealistic goals, fad diets, and irrelevant information. It truly is all about you.
Utilizing education, motivation, realistic goal setting, and an exercise plan that is safe yet challenging and effective, you can change your body and your life. You can get fit and be healthy---for the rest of your life.
You're an individual and your body is unique. Your trainer and workout program should be unique also.
Working with individuals to bring out the best in their life is what Nolan Ferraro's mission is all about. "For each client," says Nolan, "we strive to redefine fitness and wellness. That means not only a physically fit body, but designing a lifestyle that will allow that person to have and do it all."
In 1994, he received his certification from the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America and later with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and immediately began training clients of all ages throughout southeast Louisiana. He is currently a member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), NFL Play 60, the Diabetes Association of America, Wellness Councils of America, PT on the NET, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, AFAA, the Society of NLP, and the prestigious ICF (International Coach Federation). Nolan has been training clients along their journey of health and wellness for 12 years now and says he loves every day that he is able to assist clients in becoming who God has called them to be while they enjoy a healthier, happier existence! Nolan's approach is to design an individualized and comprehensive plan for the specific individual he is working with while addressing each aspect of their life, and not just present the client with a plan designed for "one size fits all wellness".
In June of 2005, Nolan realized a lifelong dream of opening his own wellness studio, Salire Fitness in New Orleans, just 45 days before Hurricane Katrina struck. "I was always a man of deep faith," he said, "but seeing my dream under seven feet of water, while my home was also submerged and drowning in 9 feet was a challenge both mentally and financially for me."
It was at this time that Nolan also began a journey led by his Faith in Christ and his vision to create a true "holistic wellness company". His vision was to develop a company that would take people of all ages and stages of life where they currently are, and assist them getting to where they most desire to be. He envisioned a company that was shaped around his core values of faith, compassion, vision, and resiliency.
About this time, Nolan also developed a passion for life and wellness coaching as well as Pilates. Combining the coaching aspect of getting individuals to where they most desire to be and Pilates, which utilizes breath work along with traction, core strengthening, and body realignment, he developed the mind/body/spirit connection that was missing in his earlier approaches. "I help clients affect change in many aspects of their lives," says Nolan. "Life coaching addresses the spiritual and mental aspects of life and is perfect for anyone struggling with focus, balance, clarity, purpose, and passion while personal training and Pilates address the physical and physiological wellness aspects, thus creating a well rounded fully functioning individual." Finally says Nolan, "My goal is to assist each client I work with, in living on "purpose" and from a perspective of "intentionality", so that they yearn to awaken in the morning looking for ways to increase their well-being and to assist and serve the world they live in, in paying that passion forward."
Nolan is also certified as a Pilates instructor through the PhysicalMind Institute®, and works with clients as a certified and licensed Professional life and wellness coach. His coaching education has been obtained through The Coaches Training Institute®, WellCoaches®, Blue Print for Life® and as a Neuro-Linguistics practitioner through Global NLP®.
